The police department serves approximately 4,120 residents (2008). The Department includes the Chief of Police, two Sergeants, six patrol officers, a records manager and an administrative assistant.

Secure the Call Foundation is a local coalition of organizations such as battered wormen's shelters, senior citizen centers, sheriff and police departments and schools systems that distribute phones to any citizen who needs one for the purpose of calling 911 in the event of an emergency.
